Residents in Southeast Mesa could soon see long-awaited recreational upgrades become a reality after the Mesa City Council approved funding for two major park projects in District 6.
According to a recent post from Mesa Vice Mayor Scott Somers, the city approved funding for improvements through Mesa Parks and Recreation that will bring new amenities to the growing Southeast Mesa area. The announcement highlighted progress on both the Brady Dog Park and the new Southeast Aquatic Center.

One of the biggest updates involves the Brady Dog Park, which will be built inside Christopher J. Brady Park, formerly known as Monterey Park. The project has now been approved for both design and construction, marking a major step forward for a dog park that many local residents have been waiting for.
The City of Mesa has also published details about the dedicated Brady Dog Park project page, which outlines plans for a new 1-acre dog park expansion at the existing park located at 7045 E. Monterey Avenue in Mesa.

Another major project gaining momentum is the new Southeast Aquatic Center, which has officially entered the design phase. Renderings shared in the announcement show plans for a multi-use aquatic complex that could provide competitive swim programming, community activities, and expanded recreational opportunities for families in the area.
These projects come as Southeast Mesa continues to experience rapid residential growth, increasing demand for more parks, recreation facilities, and family-friendly amenities.
For residents in the area, the latest approvals signal that projects once discussed as future plans are now moving closer to construction.
