Hundreds of people from our local community came out in force on Saturday, September 27 to participate in the AZ Hunger Walk to benefit Feed My Starving Children.

Augusta Ranch Golf Club closed down for the morning to allow people to walk the length of the course along cart paths to raise money to feed the hungry. The length of the walk was 4K and included a free concert by recording artist Josh Wilson.

Founded in 1987, Feed My Starving Children is a non-profit Christian organization committed to feeding God’s children hungry in body and spirit. The approach is simple: children and adults hand-pack meals specifically formulated for malnourished children, and we ship these meals to nearly 70 countries around the world. FMSC works with organizations in over 70 countries to distribute meals that are scientifically developed, easy to prepare, and designed to meet the needs of severely malnourished children.  92% of donations are spent directly on feeding.

The event raised $5,000 for Feed My Starving Children. with FMSC’s current meal price of 22 cents, this event allowed for over 20,000 meals for malnourished children. If you missed the opportunity to give, you can give online at http://www.fmsc.org/
