This November, Mesa will play host to more than 100 musical acts from across the country. Mesa Music Fest is free and will kick off November 12 through the 15.
The coordinators behind the event, Motor Media, are not strangers to the east Valley; they organized the Pros vs. Heroes Charity Flag Football event earlier this year. Following that success, Motor Media president Joseph Antao was eager to come back to the West Coast.
“We saw the potential in Mesa because there’s so much real estate and so much room to grow,” he said. “I fell in love with the whole little downtown area there, and it just kind of clicked.”
The festival’s planners and partners (which include NFL Play60 and Mist Out) hope to make the festival feel like an extended block party featuring music, live art, and tasty food. And let’s not forget about the fireworks show.
Lulubell Toy Bodega will be arranging an outdoor art expo where artists can paint on the spot and work on murals. Lo Fi Coffee, Gotham City Comics, and Milano Music are just some of the local business that are collaborating with the event.
This major event gives some much deserved validation to local business owners and downtown champions who have worked to excite and enliven the public about the city’s core.
The lineup is still being put together, but you can check out the lineup so far and also enter your band to play in the festival at mesamusicfest.com/lineup.
