Merry Main Street – Merry Main Street is a great way to celebrate the season and it continues in downtown Mesa through Saturday, Jan. 2 in a safe and healthy environment for all visitors.
The Winter Wonderland Ice Rink will be open daily, except Christmas Day, giving you the opportunity to skate under the stars. This year, due to an abundance of caution while we maintain social distancing guidelines, tickets must be pre-purchased for a specific day and time. There will be a maximum of 50 skaters at one time. Masks must be worn during check in and skate return.
The ice rink is open weeknights from 5 p.m. to 10 p.m. and Saturdays and Sundays from 12 p.m. to 10 p.m. There will be special holiday hours on the following days:
- Thursday, Dec. 24 – 12 p.m. to 4 p.m.
- Friday, Dec. 25 – CLOSED
- Thursday, Dec. 31 – 12 p.m. to 4 p.m.
- Friday, Jan. 1 – 12 p.m. to 10 p.m.
Merry Main Street also features Mesa’s Christmas Tree on Macdonald north of Main Street, which is nearly four stories tall. The tree will be glowing each night through Tuesday, Dec. 29.

Not so Polar Express – There will be no snow or train, but you can still wear your pajamas to this drive-through holiday celebration Saturday, Dec. 19. Not so Polar Express will begin at 2 p.m. at Dobson Ranch and Red Mountain and 3 p.m. at the Main Library. Each library branch’s parking lot will have several drive-in stops with special treats. Each car will get a copy of The Polar Express by Chris Van Allsburg, courtesy of Kids Need To Read.
