After some logisitical challenges during construction that slowed down progress, Cannon Beach is expected to “soft” open in Spring 2024. The 37 acre surf park will also have a 3.3 acre surf lagoon for all skill levels, as well as a hotel, office buildings, gym, dining, and community spaces.

“By all accounts, Cannon Beach will be a unique surf facility,” said Councilmember Scott Somers. “This project should bring in visitors from across the country and internationally. It will be a unique destination and great addition to our growing ‘visit Mesa’ portfolio.”

The Business Journal reports that tenants will include indoor playground KTR, a spa, salon, and a few restaurants. Hotels will come after the surf park is complete.
