Gulfstream Aerospace is expected to build a $70 million investment with 225,000 sq. ft. service center at Phoenix-Mesa Gateway Airport.

The new service center will expand Gulfstream’s MRO capabilities in the western U.S., create more than 200 jobs and is projected to open in 2023.

The Mesa facility will follow the past service expansions in Palm Beach, Florida; Appleton, Wisconsin; Forth Worth, Texas; Farmborough, England.

Mark Burns, President of Gulfstream Aerospace said, ”In the past decade, as our fleet has grown, we have invested to create a network of modern facilities to provide our customers with outstanding service and support when and where they need it.”

The Mesa facility, which will include a fuel farm with a dedicated sustainable aviation fuel supply, low-flow plumbing fixtures, LED lighting, and an energy-efficient HVAC system, will seek LEED Silver certification. Additional sustainable aspects of the Mesa center include sensor-controlled lighting, a white roof to reflect heat, native plants, and low-water-demand landscaping.

In addition to solar panels, the company is collaborating with the airport authority to use green power from the airport’s electrical grid.
