The widening of Elliot Road from Loop 202 to Signal Butte was approved by the City Council and will begin in 2018, bringing the road from a 2 lane road to a 6 lane corridor, along with branded improvements.

Mesa is investing $10 million into street improvements on it’s newly named “Elliot Technology Corridor” which will include branded streetlights and signage, wider streets, better water harvesting, and new landscape.  With the promise of these improvements, Mesa has attracted new businesses to the area occupied by Apple’s data center, including multiple data centers run by Dupont Fabros, EdgeConnex, and Edge Core. Niagara Bottling recently opened their new 450,000 sq foot bottling facility.

The new streets will have three lanes in each direction and include a median and bike lanes. The $10 million came from funds that had previously been set for the improvement of Pecos Road, as well as money from Maricopa County.
