Mr. Mike Deignan, new principal of Desert Ridge High School in Mesa, AZ, meets with Kenny Klaus upon his first month of serving as principal.

Mr. Deignan came to Desert Ridge from the Kyrene School District in Chandler, where he was principal at Kyrene Akimel A-al Middle School in Ahwatukee for six years. Originally from Wisconsin where he graduated from the University of Wisconsin, he came to the Valley in 2009.

“I am a strong believer in creating a supremely positive overall school experience for students,” said Deignan. “This includes academic excellence, a high degree of student participation in activities, and responsible social development. To do this, we must foster healthy relationships between students, staff, and parents/guardians in order to maximize the school experience. I look forward to working with the Desert Ridge Community to make that happen. Go Jags!”
