The construction of Phase II of SR-24 which will run from Ellsworth Road to Ironwood Drive is expected to be completed in 2022.

Nightly restrictions/closures for construction on Ellsworth Road begin Monday, November 1 from 8pm to 6am through the morning of Sunday, November 7.

Detour: Drivers may use Elliot Road to southbound Loop 202 to SR-24 to access Ellsworth Road. Use caution and slow down when approaching and merging through any work zones.

After this phase of the five-phase project is completed, bridges with two lanes in each direction will be built across Ellsworth and Mountain roads, with intersections at Ironwood Drive, Meridian Road, Signal Butte Road, and Williams Field Road.

This follows the completion of Phase I in 2014 that opened the segment freeway between SR 202 and Ellsworth Road.

Check out this ADOT video representation of the road.
