As Phoenix-Mesa Gateway Airport’s popularity surges, annual passenger records were achieved for the past two years, with over 1.9 million travelers served in 2023. Allegiant Air, the primary carrier, connects to 45+ destinations.
The upcoming 30,000-square-foot expansion marks a significant upgrade, introducing five permanent gates to replace a 13-year-old temporary four-gate setup. Passengers can look forward to a glass pedestrian walkway connecting the terminal to ticket counters and security, new retail and dining options, and extra space for storage and airline facilities.
“Phoenix Mesa Gateway Airport continues to grow at an incredible rate,” said Mesa Councilmember Scott Somers. “This new terminal expansion will support the new destinations being added. Plans to build a new terminal are still part of the Gateway East development, though no date has been set for when that might occur.”
