LG announces its Queen Creek site will be used for battery plant for electric vehicle industry

LG Energy Solution confirmed its plan to build a battery plant in Queen Creek which was approved by the Queen Creek Town Council on March 16, 2022.

This investment by LG will be the first-ever cylindrical-type battery manufacturing plant in North America.

According to Youngsoo Kwon, CEO of LG Energy Solution, “With the establishment of our new Arizona plant, LG Energy Solution aims to deliver unparalleled consumer value in the rapidly growing cylindrical battery market.”

He also added, “LGES will provide the most dependable, competitive and advanced products to rise as the best business partner that our clients value and trust.”

The expected construction according to the company will begin this second quarter and mass production will begin in the second half of 2024 which will be distributed to electric vehicle manufacturers.
