Phoenix-Mesa Gateway Airport has announced plans for the development of the east side of the airport, including its permanent air terminal.
Phoenix-Mesa Gateway airport is considered as one of the busiest contract air traffic control tower in the US. It is also known as one of the most successful commercial airports in the region. Continuously making it better has always been part of the plan for the Phoenix-Mesa Gateway Airport Authority.
PGMAA named the project “Gateway East” and its goal is to maximize the potential of the east side airport, which spans approximately 400 acres. Capable of supporting a number of operations, the Loop 202, State Route 24, and main thoroughfares of Ray, Ellsworth, and Pecos roads are nearby. Development of a new commercial passenger service terminal, retail spaces, industrial parcels, and aeronautical facilities are part of the initial planning.
Currently, PGMAA is still looking for a developer and had requested for qualifications which is due on January 21, 2021. Proposal requests are due on May 3, 2021 and they are hoping to select the best developer for the entire project.
