The purchase of a 15-acre master planned development in Mesa was announced today by Thompson Thrift Retail Group (TTRG). The total cost of the project is expected to be $28 million upon completion of all phases.
The development project will feature approximately 95,000 square feet of retail space available for freestanding and multi-tenanted buildings at the northwest quadrant of US 60 and Signal Road.
According to Chris Hake, senior vice president and director of the Southwest region for Thompson Thrift, “We are excited to work with the City of Mesa to develop this strategic piece of real estate just off the US 60. The East Mesa area continues to see strong growth as evidenced by the more than 800 recently announced residential units that will surround the site. We look forward to adding additional best-in-class retailers to this project.”
The site’s accessibility from Signal Butte and Hampton Avenue has gained exposure to nearby tenants such as Wal-Mart, AMC Theaters, Sprouts and Home Depot.
Among those who already committed to the site are Backyard Taco, Whataburger, Black Rock Coffee and EOS Fitness. TTRG will include these stores upon the opening of the first development phase during the first quarter of 2022.
