The Mesa Police Department Traffic Unit, in conjunction with the Governor’s Office of Highway Safety (GOHS) will be participating in the Cinco de Mayo DUI Task Force beginning Thursday, May 4, 2023, through Saturday, May 6, 2023. Traffic Officers will concentrate their enforcement between the hours of 5:00pm and 3:00am each night of the Task Force. The location of the Task Force will move each night ensuring coverage throughout the east valley.

The Cinco de Mayo DUI Task Force is a local enforcement activity held annually. The mission is to remove impaired drivers off the roadway and create safer streets throughout the valley. It is also to decrease the number of vehicle collisions related to impaired driving.

The Mesa Police Department encourages everyone to enjoy the holiday weekend responsibly and designate a sober driver. Please report reckless, unsafe, or suspected DUI driving to your local law enforcement. Mesa Police Department non-emergency line 480-644-2211.
