Mesa Firefighters, joined by Gilbert Fire, quickly put out a roof fire at the Apple plant at Signal Butte and Elliot this morning. Mesa Fire spokesman Forrest Smith said that it took about 35 minutes to put out the fire.
The fire started on the roof and burned some solar panels on the roof of the facility. Smith said that the blaze appeared to be confined to the roof and some loading docks, causing structural damage to the loading docks.
There was no fire inside of the building. Twelve people were evacuated from the building during the blaze, but no injuries were reported.
The cause of the fire is under investigation.
