The City of Mesa has activated two solar power electric systems at Fire Station 212 / Superstition Police Station and at the Red Mountain Multigenerational Center. The project at 2430 S Ellsworth is a 189 KW solar power generator that was installed on new canopy parking structures. The two projects together are anticipated to provide enough power to provide electricity to 77 homes for a year.

SolarCity installed the projects and they own and maintain them. The city expects to save over a half million dollars over the next 20 years.
