Three East Valley high school football players are among the participants in this year’s Polynesian All-American Bowl.

Josiah Polamalu Gates (Hamilton), Fou Ili (Desert Ridge) and Danny Siamau (Desert Ridge) are among 70 high school players nationally from the Pacific region to play in the annual event, which includes a game, cultural events, educational materials, life-skills training and community outreach programs.

This year’s event – the fourth edition of the Polynesian All-American Bowl – will be Jan. 18 at 2 p.m. at Tustin (Calif.) High School.

Gates was a senior defensive back/punter for the Huskies, while Ili was a lineman and Siamau a running back at Desert Ridge.
