Top 15 Thing to do in Mesa

There are endless things to do and see here in Arizona. Most of us have done the popular things like; seeing the red mountains in Sedona, shopping in Old Town Scottsdale, hiking and fishing in Payson and going to Tombstone in Tucson. Unfortunately the people that live and work here might not have the free time to drive hours away to see things. Below is a list of top things to do here in our local city of Mesa.

  1. Wind Cave Trail: Located at Usery Mountain Regional Park this 1.6 mile trail has been marked as “easy” with a cave that is a nice lunch spot with great views.
  2. Air Force Aviation Museum, 2017 Greenfield Road: The museum had aircraft and other memorabilia from World War I to the present.
  3. Salt Rive Tubing, 9200 N. Bush Hwy: Grab or rent an inner tube and join a bunch of friends for a float down the river!
  4. Orange Patch, 2717 E. Lehi Rd: Pick your own oranges at this patch. Enjoy other citrus or locally made preserves from the orchard and store.
  5. Mesa Grande Ruins, 1000 N. Date St: Tour the Mesa Grande ruins, the park showcases a 25-foot-tall mound and has many mysteries.
  6. Mesa Community College Rose Garden, 1833 W. Southern Ave: In March and April the garden is in bloom. The feature around 9,000 bushes and 40 beds.
  7. Park of the Canals, 1660 S. Alma School Rd: Hike through this preserved ruins and learn the history of the Hohokam Indians.
  8. D.E.A Museum, 35 N. Robson: Fun for children and adults! Tons of hands-on activities to encourage your little Einstein.

  10. Rockin’ R Ranch, 6136 E. Baseline Rd: Become a pioneer at this 1880s western town featuring live music, gun fighting, gold panning and TONS of food.
